Afghan Government bans music
Point 5 in this document of shame reads:

“According to the decision by the Commission on Islamic, Cultural and High Education, all music programs must be banned and be replaced by the Islamic subjects at AFCECO orphanages.”

AFCECO, the Afghan Child Education & Care Organization, is a wonderful organization. Founded and run by Afghans, it educates boys and girls in an environment of equality and respect. It is raising a new generation of Afghan community leaders – all those of us who have met some of them know this to be true – and this is how the government treats them.

This edict by parliament is the latest in a series of attacks by a small, but clearly influential group. Last year, they raided AFCECO’s New Learning Center, stating that it was a house of prostitution. The armed men accompanying the woman who lead this assault ended up looking very sheepish when they saw the great work going on within.

Don’t have any in-depth knowledge of an Islamic culture, however, as a human being I fail to understand why there are so many obstacles for people to attain any education. This restrictive behaviour seems to herald fear in the people who want to maintain dominance rather than embracing a better environment.

Why they must to do this rule? Life without music is very boring

i would request to friends who are not muslims plz do not comment on this issue because music is forbidden in Islam …its a good decision and i support it…but i would also give my opinion that the muslim gov. must have to create some other entertainment for the people ….because without entertainment life would be very difficult to live

    thanks..

i would also say that their are other so many methods and techniques other than music that can be used to teach…so muslim gov. should use these tech and at the other end they have to create entertainment facilities ….but music should be completely banned after creating an environment so that people feel no difficulty..

They needn’t to do that. Music is part of people’s soul
